Event Details

The lecturer:

Erika Negri is a master graduate in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance from the University of Padua, Italy, who specialized in gender issues and women’s rights. She is currently working as a Project Manager at Womenpreneur Initiative, a Brussels-based organization aiming to advance women’s place in the entrepreneurial scene and STEM fields.
Besides women’s rights, Erika is also passionate about climate change and environmental rights. To combine these passions, she decided to research the gendered impact of climate change, showing how women and their rights are disproportionately affected by climate change-related effects. She underlined the necessity to introduce a gender-sensitive approach in community-based adaptation and disaster risk reduction strategies, taking the Karamoja region, in Uganda, as a case study.
Erika is a positive, motivated and dynamic person, aiming to highlight the crucial role that women have in tackling the climate crisis.
She is the co-founder of an Instagram page about sustainability @theustainablesalad and she writes for an online magazine named “Evening Bravura”.
Her favourite quote is: “Be the change you want to see in the world”.
