Under our radar: I will Tell you in a Minute, by Nuna Livhaber
Presents at Voila Europe!
(The Cockpit, London)
10th and 11th November 2019
I will tell you in a minute
The show is about a 2039 successful black woman that travels black in time to meet her younger self and tell her that there’s hope as racism, xenophobia, homophobia and all bigotry have seized to exist.
This show explores what is this idea of Europe and European, what unite us and divide us.
It also explores what is like to be black and part of the black diaspora.
Issues such as displacement, cultural loss and identity are present through the show, yet the black girl magic and dreams gives a balance of light energy and hopefulness.
This play was created because black European people or black people living and growing in Europe don’t have the platform to discuss issues that are present on their day to day life.
Because in times of social and cultural uncertainty theatre, especially new writing, challenge people to acknowledge and engage with problems as well as creating a better community way of thinking and interacting.
